The balcony of my house offers an amazing view on my neighborhood. I just sat there, in silence, alone in the white splendor of moonshine, witnessing life unfolding before me. The streets were still full and vibrant with music and laughters. Cotonou, Home Sweet Home… Was I really home? I had to pinch myself several times to believe that it wasn’t a dream.
Suddenly, it started raining and screams filled the air. What a relief! It was so cold in Paris when I left, and the difference of temperature versus that hot Harmattan night was killing me!
Tomorrow would be a new day. I would see the rest of my family and see my city. On the ride from the airport, I could already see how much Cotonou had changed. I could not wait!
