STORY OF SADNESS: My journey to discover Georgia took me to the foot of Kazbegi Mountain, which is famous for its legends. Kazbegi, one of the highest mountains in the region, has a dazzling beauty with its height over 5000 meters.

When I talked to a few local people on the streets of Kazbegi town they all recommended me go to Juta. This secluded village is almost detached from the world during the winter months. The region where the Khevsur people live is so far from everything that they have managed to preserve their traditions. It’s kind of provincial life you only read about in novels from centuries, but they live it very present in Juta. In the village where there are 20-30 houses in the summer, there are only 5-6 houses left in the winter. Disconnected from everything when the roads are covered with snow.

When I start walking through the village towards the magnificent view, the incredible view of the mountains surrounds me. I just had some water and my camera with me. At the end of a 30–40-minute walk, I first saw the calmly grazing cows and then this shepherd. Everything was so calm. We didn't have a common language, but we got along. He is engaged in cattle farming, the only livelihood of the region like all other villagers. He makes a living by selling homemade cheese. He gave me this incredible pose with his huge fur hat protecting him against the cool air of autumn and his impressive gaze among the mists descending on the mountains.

The best portraits tell a little about the photographer, not just the person you're shooting. I have been in search of the “perfect portrait” for many years. For a portrait photographer this is not easy, it means long hours, days, years even kilometers.

I saw hope, sadness, hardness, intimacy, sincerity, a wisdom on people’s faces but sometimes embarrassment while I was wandering in the streets around the world. In photograph, it is difficult to reflect the essence of what you see, but there is always much more that is felt. I tried to convey many special faces that my path crossed in my photographs. In this collection, I gathered most impressive faces which I came across while I was searching for the perfect portraits.

After each sold photograph, one more will be minted, and the collection will end in 20. Photos are only 1/1
