June 25, 2021 in Hooker Oklahoma. This day was a complete surprise. I was driving home to New Mexico after chasing in Nebraska and saw this storm pop up on radar. I decided to go after it and it evolved into a beastly sculpted supercell with an incredible lowering. Suddenly, it went crazy with outflow and kicked up a wall of dust. I drove around praying to find a foreground. When I came across this shack, I knew I had captured something unbelievably special as the haboob engulfed the horizon.

Abandoned buildings with stormy skies are a rarity in the storm photography realm. Thousands of miles and immeasurable hours are traveled seeking these types of photographs. Each and every one, has taken heart and soul to acquire. A series of my very best make up this rousing collection. These old dwellings ooze history and resilience as they’ve stood the test of time and onslaught of many storms much like these. Now they will live on forever in these unique images.
