The OG Gremlin! As seen (through a plane's window) on The Twilight Zone's classic episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". This piece was originally created for a Twilight Zone group show at Earth2Kentucky art & toy gallery in, of all places, Kentucky, USA (Planet Earth).
The physical piece is ink, marker and colored pencil on 320 gram watercolor paper. The digital version is just pixels, BUT!... it is a whopping 10000x13750 pixels at 300 dpi (33x45 inches if you were to print it at high resolution, HUGE!!!) Is this the stuff your nightmares are made of, or what?
As for the inspiration behind this piece (beside its obvious significance in pop culture), i always felt sorry for the creature looking into the plane with his bewildered face stuck to the window, outside in the cold, cold storm. He looked so sad and lonely. Maybe what we selfish humans misconstrue as an act of mischievous sabotage, was in fact but a desperate attempt by the Gremlin to be seen, acknowledged, and welcomed in.
Perhaps this NFT represents the last chance for humankind to redeem itself to that sad, lonely Gremlin, whose fate at 20,000 feet, that cold stormy night, shall forever remain a mystery.
