nftyskateboards NFT#074 - Marthink Guitars 3/3
Marthink is a project that was born in Studio219. I study always related to skateboarding and also to art. We have always had ideas, projects and actions in mind, but it was not until two years ago that we started working to create an instrument totally made of skateboard. This project consists of recycling as many skateboards and longboards as possible and turning them into guitars made entirely with this raw material (MAPLE).
That is why we contacted a multinational that has a board production all over the world. Its name is Hlc distribution and it is located in the Basque Country (Spain). When we told them about the idea of making guitars from recycled cardboard or with printing errors, they supported us and gave us all the facilities to move forward with the project. His work is completely handmade. We have tested our guitars in studios with professional musicians and bands and the result has been a success. Now we are working on a new collection of guitars, new prototypes and new sounds but always thinking about skateboarding. We hope people can appreciate the craftsmanship we do at Studio219, a luthier's work fused with skateboarding.
Philosophy:
When you practise skateboarding for a long time, you realise that it has a very particular sound:
the wheels spinning in the pavement, when you grind or skid or when you slide through a tube. That sound must not ever finish and that´s why Marthink has turned it into music, becoming the beginning of our idea to mix skate and music. Marthink has created a sound from a skate board.
NFTYSK8 thinks that's preeeety dope! So we could not be happier having Marthink on Board!
Did we mention that the artwork is created by the infamous Bnomio and the skateboards they use are coming from the european skatebrand JART Skateboards !? eh!
