I stopped photographing the fires after this point. Rank 6 Fire is the last fire image I photographed in 2021. The fires took a toll on my mental health. I was deep into watching these fires. The interactive fire mapping allowed me to see near live hotspot detection. I would combine that data with the wind maps to plan my shoots as well as try and predict where the next big event would happen. This went on for almost two months.
Within a few weeks of Rank 6 Fire being taken I was off on stress leave from work and a season of living with wildfires was a large factor.
This collection will consist of 12 photos and is NOW 50% SOLD. Each piece in this collection is 1 of 1.
In the past several years British Columbia Canada has experienced 3 devastating wildfire seasons. Entire towns evacuated, communities destroyed, lives turned upside down and sadly loss of life. It is hard to convey the level of devastation this region has seen in the past few year.
I am also donating to Wildfire Relief Funds. $250 was donated to the BC United Way Wildfire relief and another $250 will be donated once sold out.
