Dublin Streets by Josip Artukovic collection image

Collection of street photography with fine art approach that explores forms and colour relationships through the abstractness of human figures.

On a deeper level, body as a subject and the way it is composed in the frame, often visually fragmented, implies the physical experience of being a human and allows for questions like "How does it feel to have a body?", "What does it mean to us?" and "How do we use it to express ourselves?" to arouse.

All images are made in Dublin throughout 2019. Being a photography student at the time, initial motivation and inspiration for this kind of photographic approach came from me being exposed to works of formative figures in the genre of street photography to whom I pay homage with some of the titles in the collection.
