The Ainu pattern, which has long been believed to have the power of amulets.

Children draw patterns from an early age, adult men sculpt, women embroider, etc. There are Ainu patterns everywhere in our lives.

Each pattern has meanings and motifs such as moreu (swirl pattern), shiku (meyui mon), and aiushi (thorn pattern), and represents nature.

In the Ainu culture, it has been believed that the kamuy (god) resides in all things.

This painting depicts the mountain god "Kimunkamui", which is worshiped by the Ainu people.

文化と文様シリーズ No.002“キムンカムイ/アイヌ”

古くから「魔除けの力がある」と信じられていたアイヌ文様。

子供たちは幼い頃から文様を描き、大人の男性は彫刻、女性は刺繍など。生活のあらゆる場所にアイヌ文様があります。

文様にはそれぞれモレウ（渦巻紋）、シク（目紋）、アイウシ（棘紋）などの意味・モチーフがあり、自然を表したものです。

アイヌ文化では、森羅万象にカムイ（神）が宿ると信じられてきました。

この絵は、アイヌの人々にあがめられる、山の神『キムンカムイ』を描いたものです。
