Nicholas Harhalakis is a young artist with a talent in photography that fell in love with it by finding he’s passed Dads old camera and never putting it down ever since. He was born in the U.K. but grew in the Greek island of Skiathos. His multicultural background (Half Greek. half English) makes his personality liberal. progressive and willing to get actively involved into dynamic and socially oriented projects. His work concentrates on every day issues of contemporary society. Economic crisis, human rights and the urban landscape are some of his subjects. His work is primarily related with street photography and he is mostly interested in capturing everyday life moments in a rural environment. Nevertheless landscapes and portraits are part of his photographic work. He has participated in many group exhibitions in Athens and his hometown Skiathos. Nicholas has won the first price in Black and White Photography in the 3rd International Photo Competition Peace Is. organized by the NGO "World without wars and violence". Also, he won the first price in a local photography competition that took place in Skiathos in 2010 with the theme "Skiathos". In addition, he has participated in two group exhibitions organized by the Municipality of Skiathos in 2012. in the 'Little Art and Culture Gallery. Another group exhibition Nicholas has been involved was dedicated to the 100 years from the death of the great author Alexandros Papadiamantis, which took place in the cultural center Bourtzi in Skiathos in 2011.
