Guided by the Qur’an and Islamic tradition, Siddiqa Juma create art that celebrates a rich religious and cultural heritage. Her pieces are characterised by successive layers of vivid colour and intricate repetitive patterns and calligraphy, which draw to mind the ancient illuminations from the Qur’an. She also uses vibrant colours and contemporary styles to straddle the bridge between contemporary and traditional aesthetics.

Siddiqa Juma is a multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed contemporary Islamic artist. Hailing from the tiny Zanzibari island of Pemba, Siddiqa has been painting since she was a child and has more recently moved into digital work. She is considered to have created the largest volume of work featuring the Holy Kaabah (Islamic House of God) than any other professional artist in the world.
