Merlin, a magus was a office clerk by profession. Being a magus means he was supernaturally gifted and could perform magic in a jiffy but never did he use his magical powers to accomplish his daily chores. Also because he wanted to keep his talent a closely guarded secret.

But somehow, his colleagues came to know about his magical powers and began to feel threatened by this ability of his. All his life he dipped more and more into being alone to protect this secret but now everyone at his office knew. So, he had to quit his day job.

Merlin had always dreamt of becoming a magician to entertain the audience and earn renown. So instead of looking for another job, he continued to practice further. He was low on funds and on some days he felt depressed and disillusioned but during this adversity, magic somehow channeled the chaos that brewed inside of him, it made him feel better.

Magic tricks involving cards had always fascinated him. So, he thought of utilizing this time to be a master at card magic. Although he was gifted, he preferred to get the hang of it just like any ordinary individual. Gradually he invented many tricks due to his adroitness with cards, and also started to perform at small theaters.

Owing to his charismatic personality, he was easily able to convince the audience. People seem to have started to enjoy his unique style of displaying his tricks. In no time, he got fame and people from all over the world began to attend his magic shows. Merlin was now a known face in the world of magic and soon he was bestowed the title of 'The Master Card Manipulator'.
