This is one of the earliest crypto works that I made in 2017, and was featured in the first News BTC article about my work soon after. It was also retweeted then by Trace Mayer, whom I was listening to in order to understand what was going on in the space as a whole. I later on met him and retold the story at the Unconfiscatable conference in Las vegas 2020.

Here is the story:

Tally sticks are the oldest form of controlling the stability of exchange. In a fully decentralized monetary system, there is no central authority that regulates the monetary base. Instead, currency is created by the nodes of a peer-to-peer network. The Bitcoin generation algorithm defines, in advance, how currency will be created and at what rate. Any currency that is generated by a malicious user that does not follow the rules will be rejected by the network and thus is worthless updating the oldest measure to tangible measure. The split of bitcoin mining rewards from 25 to 12.5 BTC illustrated by tally sticks is to signify one of the biggest engines of it: FOMO.
