This is one of my all time fav shots, of a place amongst sleeping volcanoes, people do not realise what we have in New Zealand and what there is to see if you venture out. These breaks out here will remain close to my heart. I cherish every moment I get out here. The highway of my people. Any given day, you will see whales, dolphins, sharks, fish. It is close to my heart, and I feel it when I am out here.
Edition: 1/1 NFT - Kia ora, my name is Pete May, I am a photographer based in Whitianga on the Coromandel, Aotearoa, New Zealand. I am an indigenous artist with a connection to the land and sea through my ancestors, which come in the form of all living beings, trees, birds, ocean life and more. Ko au te moana, ko te moana ko au - I am the Ocean, and the Ocean is me.
A collection of 12 1/1 NFT's from New Zealand / Aotearoa Photographer, Pete May. Hine-moana is the goddess of the sea to some indigenous Māori iwi (tribes). She creates the waves that roll on forever against the body of mother earth, caving our coastlines and sea floors. Waves can travel from around the earth via cyclones, storms, wind. Every wave is different, like a fingerprint, none ever the same. Sometimes violent and destructive, sometimes soft and beautiful, either way, waves have been a massive part of my life.
