There are 8 layers in this image. Normally I try to blend in the animal, but the dolphin is just so daggone cute and sweet and happy that I had to let her come out and dance. There is a tunnel of fish and coral and other dolphin and bubbles.
There are many types of dolphins in the world. Some are threatened. The Bottlenose variety shown grows up to 12 feet and is very fast. We have a lot of them here in Virginia Beach. Every day the Dolphin Boats go out and back many times.
Inspired by an upcoming call for entries by our Museum of Contemporary Art, I have started a series on animals: endangered and those that have made a comeback. My goal is to create abstract layered work using imagery of the animals and their environments.
