Ynaguinid is the Diwata ng Digmaan (goddess of war). Cunning and merciless, her face is painted with blood and her body is covered with tattoos that symbolize the hundreds of foes she has slain. A formidable master of both weapons and poisons, Ynaguinid is said to have gifted mortals with the secret to a poison called “Odto" (high noon) - a brutal concoction made from a mixture of viper venom and herbal oils. Any unfortunate soul struck by a weapon coated with Odto will die an excruciating death by noontime. Ancient Visayan war chiefs devoted ornate prayers and lavish offerings to Ynaguinid in order bless their clansmen with the bravery and might needed to destroy their enemies. She was worshipped along the two other Visayan gods of battle: Barangaw - the god of the rainbow, and Makanduk - the god of plunder.
