Tamas Garam was born in Debrecen, Hungary. At first, he was preparing to become a veterinarian, so his favorite subject was biology. He gave literature a wide berth because, as he indicated soon after graduation, “Reading and writing are for lunatics, science makes life meaningful.”

However, he did not become a veterinarian because his rebellious, restless nature could not identify with the strict and systematic expectations of medicine. He took a laboratory job at a multinational company while obtaining a degree in biology. He regularly wrote poems and short stories at work for current occasions. He started to write a book on the advice of a colleague. The main character of his first novel, Angela, a teenage girl with supernatural abilities, was born soon afterwards. Soon he became so fond of writing that he quit his job and started trading on the stock market, which allowed him plenty of time for his creative work.
