We live in a society where we’re taught that we’ve to meet a series of conditioning expectations. An inevitable doctrine that unfairly classifies us as a body, like a piece of meat that has to be eternally young. The fantasy of being eternal within an impossible beauty-canon. This antagonistic tendency immerses us in an insatiable spiral and in a continuous search of perfection, eliminating what you have to contribute intellectually, because you are a body. I wonder how long it is acceptable to continue to be subject to the objectivity that is amended. The ads tell us: "love your curves", but we realize that if you go over size twelve you don't have to love them anymore. This media bombardment isn’t palpable and we end up being unfair to ourselves, erasing our self-esteem in favor of the patriarchal market. The unconsciousness is what really worries me and sometimes I think of teenage girls. Also when I was a teenager and how aesthetic pressure affected me, and all women. No doubt we have to reform society to see the beauty in a different way, women and men. I personally reveal myself against the canon of the Greco-Roman woman, because we only have one body, which is only a body, to love it as it is. 🌹
