Title: Elevate
Artist: Steph Rapo
Edition: 1/1
“Rolling Perspectives” is a collection of 9 images that individually, and as a whole, has encouraged me to listen to my inner truth and embrace the rewards that come with lessons.
About the piece: I set out this morning with intentions of being a "leaf peeper" in my own town, hot apple cider in hand. It wasn't peak foliage yet but I had a goal to find a composition with a perfect balance of greens and oranges and I knew the overcast sky would make what colors there were really pop. I sent the drone up and while normally I find that I rush the process, always finding something to be anxious about, I relaxed and let the colors in the hills teach me that everything takes time. In that moment, with the help of my drone, I elevated my mindset and truly accepted that things, like the fall foliage, cannot and will not be rushed.
The past year has provided a lot of opportunities to do some introspective work with myself. I found a lot of answers behind the lens.
Consisting of 9 1/1 images, this gallery serves as a reminder that we have power over our perspective. Like the Berkshire peaks and valleys, our lives consist of moments where we are up and moments we are down. We cannot have one without the other; we should always be searching for the lessons both positions can offer.
I'm learning to see what I didn’t see before; to open my mind to new ways of thought and new methods of navigating life. I'm excited to put more effort and attention into what serves my heart, this gallery is just the beginning.
