A station is a place of mixed emotions. Sadness of departures and happiness of welcomes. Wishes for new ventures or blessings for something leaving behind.
P.S. This girl by the window was waving out to someone inside. I did capture this emotion, but I did not know whether she was waving good bye or saying Hello to her friend, welcoming her.
Hua Lamphong station in Bangkok, formally known as Sathani Rotfai Krung Thep , was opened in 1916. The station was built in an Italian Neo-Renaissance-style, with decorated wooden roofs and stained glass windows. The station is now closed as a railway station effective Dec 2021.
As a Photographer and as a lover of stations, I fell in love with the vibes and beauty of this station. I loved photographing here as the structure, the light, the emotions of this place was very unique. And I love stations, as it carries a bundle of various emotions. Such as hope, wait, good byes, welcomes, sadness, happiness and much more.
As my favourite station has closed down, this 1/1 series of 20 images is my Ode to Hua Lamphong - in Monochrome as I have tried to capture this place's emotions to the best i could. It will certainly be a bundle of beautiful memories of this station.
