Secret Cove appears in several images in this collection, and that is because it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The first time I happened upon this spot, I was blown away by the clarity and incredible color of the water. From then on, every time I road-tripped up to Tahoe (before I moved there), Secret Cove was my first stop. I couldn't photograph it enough and still can't.
I took this image on a calm fall morning. It's a self-portrait that I obtained using a tripod and self-timer. I remember having the entire cove to myself and just enjoying a little solitude and serenity in one of the beautiful spots in all of Tahoe.
From the moment I first laid eyes on Lake Tahoe, I felt a powerful connection to it. So much so that I would enthusiastically drive the 7 hours from LA several times a year just to photograph it! Tahoe had become my favorite source of inspiration, and I started to wonder what it would be like to live there.
So one day, after living in LA for six years, I decided it was time to take a chance on a new adventure. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing a soul, I had only planned to stay for four months. I never would've imagined that two and a half years later, I'd still be living here, feeling as inspired as ever. 💙
Each piece in this collection represents a moment in Lake Tahoe that I found to be especially beautiful and out of the ordinary. The collection is also an ode to following your heart down an exciting path unknown.
