“Ambiguous Series” allows me to explore, through intuitive drawing and stream of consciousness ,compositions of interesting shapes, lines, textures, which might stand alone as abstract designs, but where characters and creatures inevitably emerge and come to life. In a way I’m attempting to straddle the line between abstract and representational art and encouraging others to find for themselves, what unique characters and creatures emerge from their view point.

My personal connection to this series mirrors an aspect of my identity. As a multiracial person, and somewhat racially ambiguous, straddling the line between cultures can contribute to the feeling of not fully being excepted or belonging anywhere and can be challenging to ones identity. On the same token not bound to one culture or ethnicity gave me a unique perspective and in my experience fostered a curiosity of cultures and a fascination with facial features through out the spectrum of human diversity.
