The Mad Mugsy Nation/Mug City Mob project is a collection of avatars created by Doze Green notably, the creator of the Original Mad Mugsy bboy character back in the early 1980’s which has become a world renown icon.

In the Hip hop Graffiti/bboy and street culture scene, yhe Mugsy character was developed in response to a need to create a bboy persona that was born of Doze’s generation. A second generation bboy! This is considered the golden age of hip hop. Characters previously done on the trains of the New York transit system (i.e. 1970’s) mainly depicted famous icons and characters derived or copied from Sunday newspaper comics, comic book and underground comic characters, as well as commercial icons etc. Doze felt the need to create a character that was representational of his urban life, surroundings, culture and crew. “A Latino street kid with a don’t give a fuck attitude, a live wire bboy thug with a conscience. a hustler street smart and confident."
