Partial shot of the rear side of the impressive building complex that houses the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing in Wilhelmsburg, Hamburg. I have taken photos of this building before but this time I went to back, in the courtyard. I was astonished to see that the rear side with its wave-like curves is more fascinating than the facade. Whether the front or back is better, the Ministry stands out like colourful ribbons in the centre of Wilhelmsburg. Location: Hamburg, Germany Awarded on 1x.com Published in MVIBE Magazine, Issue #24.1, July 2021
We love geometry. Geometry is the foundation of life. It is an overview of the basic elements, systems, and orders that constitute a work of architecture. And we love architecture. In this collection, however, our architecture works are not an accurate depiction of a visual reality. Abstract architecture photography is the play of light, shapes, colours, and forms that we find in urban architecture. Much is left to the interpretation of the viewer, who otherwise would pass these structures in the daily landscape without giving them a second glance.
