Day 30, Salmon Arm -> Kelowna 120 km.

My journal entry from that day:

Had a great evening hanging with Dave and his friends in Salmon Arm. I woke up feeling great and had an amazing day cycling into Kelowna. Tailwinds picked up mid-morning and pushed me into the beautiful Okanagan. HWY 97 was one of the scariest highways of the entire trip. I don't think I noticed more crosses (from car accidents) on the side of any highway on the entire trip. Everyone was driving like a maniac and did not want to leave me much space. Once I hit Kelowna city limits I felt much better. I got a flat about 3km from my friend's place, so again, I got a lift to his house. While I fixed my flat, I noticed that I had broken a spoke on my rear rim as well. Tomorrow is a rest day and I'll be sure to get my bike tuned up.

Note: I lived in the Okanagan for 5 years, from 2006-2011, and was so excited to cycle here and visit with old friends.

Second Note: The landscape still blows me away

Across Canada collection image

Across Canada is a collection of images from my 2015 solo cycling journey from Toronto, Ontario to Vancouver B.C. Canada 4759km.

I shot one image a day with my Nikon FM3a film camera, my bike, the road, and nature. My intention for the series is for viewers to experience each image in chronological order; taking time to gaze down the middle of the road and get a sense of what it was like to be on this journey. At the end of each day, I wrote in my journal and included the corresponding journal entry with each photograph.

Please, look through the images and read the journal entries starting on Day 1. You'll get a sense of the adventure and most likely be inspired. It's a great story.
