This is the Sancaklar Mosque in Istanbul. It is quite different from classical mosques in form and is an underground mosque. It was designed by architect Emre Arolat. The mosque received the Project of the Future award at the World Architecture Festival held in Barcelona in 2011, the world first place in the religious buildings category at the World Architecture Festival held in Singapore in 2013, and the Chamber of Architects Building Award in 2014. The design, which was exhibited among the finalist buildings in the Design of the Year Selection by the London Design Museum in 2015, was selected as one of the 40 best buildings in the Mies Van Der Rohe European Awards in 2015. When I went to take a photo of this mosque, whose architecture I fell in love with, I saw intertwined concrete columns. In this composition I created, I brought both the geometric structure and simplicity to the fore.
