11 years ago I relocated from England to California. During a particular rough time in my life, I found solace in solo hiking and exploring California. I found myself pausing often to snap a scene or a mushroom or an insect, until I found that photography became a reason to hike.

Photography has been like therapy to me, helping me look for the beauty in the most mundane things and appreciating the extraordinary sights. Finding new ways to look at things, both practically and metaphorically is what has kept me alive and fighting through difficult times.

The equipment I use varies, but is relatively basic, as professional equipment is out of my price range, and I prefer to travel light and as a lone female traveler, I'd rather not attract too much attention. Right now I'm trying to save to buy a really good macro lens.
