Today is Canada's first National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

After the discovery of hundreds of unmarked graves of children who were taken from First Nations across Canada and forced to attend Residential Schools, the government set aside September 30 as a day of mourning and reconciling.

Many Canadians are asking themselves what they can do to right this historical wrong, while many also remain blind to the ongoing issues that stem from this genocidal regime.

I am creating this Reconciliation collection to mint photography that shows my support for the struggle to end colonialism and uplift Indigenous communities, with 50% of all proceeds going toward United Way Winnipeg for Indigenous-led community organizations in my city.

This picture is from the Manitoba Legislative Building on Canada Day 2021, where protestors toppled a statue of Queen Victoria. While I do not condone vandalism, I also do not support the monarchy. Here is video of the historic moment: https://bit.ly/3uA8Dp2

These NFTs are primarily time capsules, but also function as fundraising for my community and future projects. The unlockable includes The Guardians of Earth - a poem about the lessons Indigenous people have shared with us.

We all need to embrace Reconciliation. When we learn from the past, we prepare for the future.

This photography series captures moments in Manitoba, Canada where we struggle with the lasting impacts of Residential Schools and our colonial history.

50% of all proceeds will be donated to United Way Winnipeg for Indigenous-led community organizations - helping children and families who are dealing with generational trauma.
