The NFT world can be thought of as a market but also as a platform for art. As any platform for art, when thinking about how to present the work, the platform becomes a vehicle for the understanding of an art work. As a vehicle, the NFT world, as any other vehicle (i.e. the art book), has a particular language. That language has to be native, it can’t communicate with the tools of other art forms, the way the NFT inhabits specifically this space is important for the language of the platform. If there’s a specific language for the art NFT, it has to be imprinted on community. The NFT ceases to be just a “jpeg” when it gets signed and becomes tradeable, so it’s tradability is essential to the object itself, an object is traded throughout the community, so the way that object is traded through community is essential for the way it will communicate. The projects that understand that will be the projects that will be easily understood as an art NFT. Artblocks projects may be the better example for this, for they to exist, a community has to exist and participate. It could be that an NFT as an art form is some kind of performance art in that way.
