1/1 Edition

A structured supercell slowly lumbers toward the town of Alliance, Nebraska on a muggy summer day in 2021.

We watched this storm form over the small town of Harrison, Nebraska. After seeing it mature, the chase began with us trying to not get ran over by the core of the storm, which was producing over 3-inch hail at the time. Unfortunately, my car windshield was not spared, with a large hail stone getting thrown out ahead of the storm and leaving a very large circular crack in the windshield (and subsequently a very scared chaser as well).

Eventually, we got out ahead of the storm and found a nice clear field outside of the town of Alliance, Nebraska. It wasn't long before this supercell really started to take on structure, destroying crops in its path with large hail and leaving several cars damaged.

Moments after this storm got to the southeast of Alliance, it lost its structure and began dying. This was only the beginning however, as another storm to our west would eventually turn into the beautiful piece that is Supercellular #7: Alliance within the collection.

Supercellular collection image

Welcome to the genesis collection of 'Supercellular', a unique annual project consisting of supercell images from each storm chasing season. The 1/1 images listed below were all captured during my season and illustrate the raw beauty and power of Mother Nature across the Midwest.

Each image in this collection represents a union between the natural world and my emotions. With every image I edit, how I feel is often poured into it.

As you browse this collection, I implore you to take the time and reflect on your own feelings. Does a certain image move you? Can you feel the wind blowing against your skin? Hear the thunder from a distance? See the lightning arcing across the darkening sky?

Does it evoke something deep within your soul? If so, congratulations! You've synced with the artwork and I couldn't be more ecstatic.

This collection grants Supercellular #1-12 holders the privilege to receive a bi-annual dividend from all of my future storm photography NFT sales.
