Goddess of Spring #021, drawn in Habiba Green’s style.
Habiba Green is a London-based artist well known for her minimalist-realism portraits of empowered women, often captured in a moment of vulnerability and introspection. Her works represent the gentle, quiet strength of femininity itself, and show that there is beauty in the natural and in the imperfect.
Her art style is the very definition of “less is more”, something I’ve always struggled to incorporate in my own art. Her paintings are characteristically mostly white, but the areas where her paintbrush do touch explode with emotion and colour, like visual poetry. The rest of the world melts away as we are granted an intimate look at the woman herself; her pure, unaltered, imperfect form. Her femininity.
I spent 2 days pouring over the smallest details in her artworks to be able to finally paint this tribute to her style. It takes years of practice to know exactly what to omit but Habiba is a master of her arts and I am grateful she allowed me to learn more about her process this way.
