During the colonial rules of many African countries, thousands of cultural artefacts were plundered. Items such as the Benin bronzes, the Rosetta stone from Egypt and the Maqdala treasures from Ethiopia, to mention but a few.

A lot of these artefacts are still in the hands of the colonizers while they give conditions for the return of these items. Even to this day, the African continent is still being looted by the colonizers for the continent's treasures and many untapped resources.

The ethereum logos in the paintings are used to symbolise how NFTs and the Web 3 can be a way for Africans to be valued and appreciated for their efforts without being exploited. Essentially, it is a way to level the playing field between the colonisers and the colonised.
