I captured this photo in the Eastern Alaska mountains of northern Alaska in 2020. Two friends and I were on a 2000 mile road trip around the state, and we found this view after driving down a random dirt road in the middle of nowhere. I love looking at photos from this trip, because it brings me back to a transformative time in my life. I was the happiest I'd been in many years, traveling across my favorite place on earth with two of my closest friends. Beyond those memories, this image reminds me of just how incredible Alaska is.
