Lake Louise, Canada: You may not recognise this place at first glance but it's one you've probably seen before, but not through my lens. It started out on a road trip travelling through British Columbia on a 10 day road trip, sleeping in our 4WD.

Day 5: Picture this. 5am condensation on the windows because it was too cold to sleep in the car with them down, heavy eye lids struggling to open wide enough to let any light in and frozen noses from them sticking out of the blankets. A small turn to a friend to get enough of an acknowledgement that we were in fact about to leave our warm but wet car to enter the outside world in hopes to get candy floss coloured skies on a calm, still Lake Louise.

So with the blink of an eyelid we were out of the covers and already dressed as it was so cold we were wearing everything we had. Beanies on, gloves on, camera on. First steps out of the car and I slip on some black ice and land right on my back. The time is 5:10am and I can already tell the adventure for the day has only just began. Gathering myself and my belongings I scoop myself off the ground and slide one foot in front of the other as if I was ice skating just to get to a visible clear patch of snow. It wasn't forecasted to snow so this was a surprise to both of us but a very welcomed one.

After the already sketchy journey from the carpark to safe ground, we began to walk as fast as we could to make it in time for sunrise. Even though it was very overcast I still has faith the clouds would break because we always manifest. I've seen hundreds of pictures of Lake Louise but never like I was seeing it right now. The blue hour hues filling the skies, with that crisp icy air brushing my face, fluffy white snow encasing the lake right up until the first drop of water and not a single ripple on a glass like lake. The air was so cold that even my eyes were cold, trying not to slip along the decking and looking at everyone taking the iconic Lake Louise shot which is dead centre in the middle of the lake. I look to my left and I cant get my gaze off this cabin that has the faintest light. This for me just brought the image together, the blue icy world and the warm cozy cabin. As the shutter closed, I knew this was the moment that I'd been waiting for.

Stories of the Mountains collection image

"Stories of the Mountains" is a collection of 1/1 photographs of my most cherished moments in the mountains. My love for photography, snowy peaks and drastic mountain ranges is expressed through this collection. They have been captured from places all around the world and each one tells a unique and different story. You are getting to see the world through my eyes and I have always thought that’s what’s most special about someone else's photograph. A glimpse into someone else’s mind. I have created this collection so people can enjoy this wonders of the world we live in and appreciate there's a story behind every moment.
