Horseshoe bend: An iconic famous location that you've seen a thousand times, but never through my eyes. This image was 6 years in the making. I first saw an image of horseshoe bend in university and it took a photography degree, moving to Canada and a road trip with 3 friends to get to this specific moment in time.
My biggest decision on the day was choosing between sunrise or sunset. Instead of blue skies and a hot burning sun, I got a cloudy evening, with the smell of rain. For me the clouds was everything I wanted as I love moody scenes. So I took out my camera and began shooting, within moments the sky began to split in two. One side embracing the golden glow of the sun setting and the other bringing in the blue of the rain and storm. To see this image split down the middle with the orange and blue fighting for the sky, I was in my happy place. With camera in hand I took this image and I just knew, this was the image I'd been waiting for.
