Ric Estrada is most well known for his pencil works on behalf DC comics, and to a lesser extent, his ghost art for the Spider-Man newspaper strip.

However, he had maintained a lifelong obsession with learning watercolor painting.

In late 1997, Ric received life altering news: he tested positive for cancer.

After confirmation that it was indeed cancer, Ric wasted no time painting this series of experimental watercolor studies.

He was most prolific in the months between 1997 and 1998, after he discovered that his lifelong dream of becoming more accomplished in the watercolor medium could potentially be cut short by the illness.

His family has kept these watercolors in a private collection since 1998.

They have never been reproduced, or even scanned, until preparing for this NFT release.
