Imperial Noble Consort Beauty Gao is a Layer 2 masterpiece in Dreaming Back to meTANGverse collection, originated from Dreaming Back to the Tang Dynasty Summer Series.
The Summer series portrays the indulgent court life of Li Yu, the last emperor of Nan (South) Tang Dynasty (937-975). In 955, a year after Li Yu's marriage, Southern Tang was invaded by Later Zhou. The resistance war did not end until spring 958, after Li Yu's father Li Jing ceded all prefectures north of the Yangtze River to his powerful northern neighbor. In Spring 961, Li Yu was named as the crown prince to take over in the capital Jinling. A few months later, Li Yu officially succeeded the throne after his father's death.

“Dreaming Back to the Tang Dynasty,” also known as “Yu Mei Ren,” is a majestic oil painting created by artist Jiang Yun-Zhong from 1985 to 1998. This artwork features Li Yu, the poet and the last emperor of the Nan Tang Dynasty, and recreates his legendary life of love, life, sufferings, awakenings, and the ultimate death. 18 meters long and 2.8 meters high, this grand masterpiece is divided into four parts. Symbolic green, yellow, and blue colors in traditional Chinese Cloisonne are to represent the four seasons of an Emperor’s life and the rise and fall of a Dynasty.
