"On the Shoulders of Gentle Giants"

The image in the top left quadrant is a photograph called "Alone" by Xose Casal. Yesterday he sold it as an NFT to VincentVanDough as a Creative Commons 0 Licence NFT. From the description of that NFT:

"This image is available as a Creative Commons 0 Licence NFT on Opensea. All rights to everyone once purchased. All rights will be released to the world after the NFT is purchased. Xose Casal grants a worldwide copyright license to download, distribute, and use as wished without any permission needed from the artist or NFT owner. The licence takes effect once the NFT has sold and not before."

Very cool.

I've been working on a color shifted quadrant NFT similar to this as a custom NFT for WildTurkey (the winner of the auction for "Day 73 - Autumn"), and have been wanting to utilize Blitmaps (an NFT project whose artwork is completely free to use for any purpose by anyone) in some of my work, but because Blitmaps are tiny (I think they are 24x24 pixels) it is hard for me to work with them in the way I work, and make something that feels true to the art I like to create. I love the idea of artwork that is getting sold, and then the full usage rights of them being given to the whole world; it's so counter to how so much of society operates, and so in line with the best aspects (imo) of what crypto and NFT's can enable. When I saw VVD's tweet announcing he bought this NFT from Xose under these conditions I knew this would be a great chance to shine a light on the positive sum nature of this exciting time and space we are in now, and on a great artist and great collector who just showed how it's done.

In the spirit of of what Xose has done with the original image, I will be minting 5 of these and they will all be free. This is 2/5. Please do not claim more than one.

Abstract of the Day collection image

I love making abstract watercolor paintings. I just got a nice tablet and am learning to create digital art with it. I will be, to the best of my ability, making and minting one piece a day. This was inspired by Beeple's "Everydays" which he has kept up for over 5000 days in a row.
