I couldn't help but notice this gentleman's outfit; even at his age, he had swagger. Turns out he's British and was waiting on his wife to meet him once she parked the car.
As a cinematographer, I believe the essence of a story can often be captured in one shot, one moment. I got my first camera—a Kodak 110 Instamatic—when I was just 7 years old. I later upgraded to a Pentax K1000, followed by some digital still cameras, but as I became more immersed in filmmaking, I found myself taking fewer and fewer still photographs.
This pandemic has brought challenges, but it has also ushered in opportunities for artists, directors, producers, and so many others to find new avenues for creative expression. For me, that meant going back to my beginnings and taking more photographs.
I bought a Fujifilm X100V. I was challenged by the fixed focal length of the lens, and found it interesting to shoot without the distractions of multiple lenses, which would help push my own creative boundaries.
My first NFT project, “PROJECT PHOTO” Collection #1, Wynwood, FL, is a series of photographs taken on my very first outing with this camera. These are 1 of 1.
