Ep4. Hope - Dnipro.
Irina: This piece was created on the day before we left Ukraine, while I was preparing everything for the long journey with my kids towards the unknown. The piece of a building Alexander captured here, gives me a peaceful feel, which resulted in this drawing of a girl growing some plant with a tiny heart in it. It was created first, but is the final part of the story which is symbolic on several levels - the hope that led me through this escape journey, the art project that helped me to stay sane, the thought of life going on despite the horrible times, and the hope to finally grow something new from the ashes of my abandoned life.
Alexander: Trying to find a safe place was the main priority in Irina’s journey, wherever this would take her. To me that called for a location that had a sense of calm, a sense of space to it to breath in. When I saw this wall with its cute window and entrance in a narrow, tucked away street, I knew I had to take that picture.

Life Under Construction is a collaboration between @Ambi_eth and @abenz_nft. Alexander, a Paris based photographer, provided Irina, an originally Ukrainian based artist, with images of surfaces to draw her journey on. A journey no one ever thought would be necessary to undertake in modern time.
The images were specifically taken for this collaboration both in Paris and New Yorks City. Each picture was the result of an ongoing dialogue while Irina was getting herself and her family to safety.
Not knowing what she would receive, Irina carefully selected from a range of photographs to find inspiration and tell about her journey as it was unfolding in real time. The uniquely ambidextrous drawings were made on location in Dnipro, Warsaw, Vienna and her current final destination Athens.
The final pieces, still images and movies, are the result of an ongoing, intense dialogue, photography, drawings and added site specific audio.
