The famous lit up cabin shot at Emerald Lake in the Canadian Rockies. I do not have much to say about this image, except that everyone thinks this is a cabin, when in fact, it's cafe named "Cilantro" It's a place you have to dream a little to stop thinking about the delicious coffee they are servicing just across from where you are photographing. SOLD OUT Winter is one of my ABSOLUTE favourite seasons to photograph in. It's challenging, unique, often has moody weather and the icy foregrounds are magical. Growing up in the North we have no choice but to face the cold conditions which I think makes these images even more special. They are not easy to get and the weather can change on you drastically. I love the natural blues that paint the landscape from the ice. It pairs well with the warmth of a firey sunset or sunrise.
Landscape photography has been my staple through my photographic journey. It is the background to my self-portrait work and where I have grown the most as a photographer.
I hope you enjoy these chilly shots just as much as I enjoy creating them.
