I always love strolling along the harbourfront and never miss the sight of this Chinese junk boat cruising off the coast of Hong Kong. I brought my camera last weekend and tried to capture the beauty of this wooden vessel again. Though the weather was cloudy with little sunlight, the three bright-red sails still illuminated the water of Victoria Harbour. In Hong Kong’s local Cantonese language, this junk boat known as "Cheung Po Tsai", and was named after a Hong Kong pirate from the 19th century. My parents told me Chinese junk boat was still very common on Victoria Harbour in the 1960s and 1970s. But they have gradually disappeared as people prefer faster modes of transport. Nowadays, Three Red Sails become the most iconic visual symbols of Hong Kong.
