When I was a kid I fell in love with all this concept about fairies, especially because my mom used to tell me a lot of stories about them and put movies about fairies for me to watch. I remember wishing that I was a fairy, with all that sparkling aura that surrounded the fairies in my dreams and stories that my mom used to tell me. They were, in my imagination, my best friends. I used to spend a lot of time in my backyard just trying to find fairies and I always left a slice of cake, apple or something sweet for them. I remember that I used to get all excited when I came back and saw that the sweet food was gone. I know that it was probably eaten by ants, or any other animal (or maybe it was really the fairies?) but for me it wasn’t even something to think about. And it’s funny, because this belief in this concept about fairies grew with me. I still do believe that they’re out there somewhere. So with this piece, “Inner Aura” I’ve tried to express my feelings about fairies and about myself, as it’s a self portrait. I really do believe it tells a lot about me, and who I am. Could it all be just my creativity brain? Yes, but I prefer to believe on this side of myself. A fairy side.
