I took this photo in Lviv in 2016, working on my photo series "365 days of light and shadow". I challenged myself to shoot daily and explore everything around me, focusing on light and shadow, on their play (very inspired by the photos of the famous American photographer Ray K Metzker) It was this series that led me to street photography. Then I realized that this genre of photography interests me the most. Of course, in the beginning I did not think about anything more important than just the form. For me, the visual component was the most important then. Nevertheless, I still like this shot today. So I want to tell you how it was filmed. According to the terms of my project, I took photos every day in search of a "single" frame of the day. Unfortunately, my schedule didn't always allow me to spend as much time shooting as I wanted. Almost always I was satisfied with shooting moving from point "a" to point "b". This is exactly the case here: while running around the city center on business, I was caught in a heavy downpour. The only place I managed to hide was the ice cream parlor, namely under the umbrella of a saleswoman who kindly agreed to let me go. The storm ended very quickly, I just managed to make a portrait of this saleswoman and, turning around, I saw a figure passing by. Quickly analyzing the situation, I managed to turn on the flash on my camera and make this "frame of the day". Later, this photo became a finalist of Miami street photography festival and appeared as a "screensaver" on the global site Fujifilm global.
"In search of light" - the collection includes selected street photos taken in the period from 2016. With the help of the play of light, I build rich colors of the city, find secret details, document everyday life. Each photo in the collection has its own mood and character. The longer we look at them, the more we see the combined elements that make up the history of the city. The collection will be supplemented.
