The ‘Marlene Revisited’ pieces are a continuation of a series I started way back in 1987 and I got in my first group show with them, run by a city newspaper for gifted young artists. I revisited Marlene 23 years later in 2010 as a lark to see if I could add to the series by making works digitally (and if they'd be any good). I made 3 new ones and filed them away, forgotten. I had been in the Crypto Art/NFT space for 3 weeks at that point, just throwing things to see what stuck and I found them in my archive in passing and uploaded one for sale, not expecting much. The response was surprising, it was the first edition of Artwork I'd offered that sold out, and immediately. Oriental Explosion is the 4th piece created in the series.
This piece was originally on Rarible as an edition of 6/6 with 5 editions sold there. This has been re-released to Open Sea reduced to a 1/1 for the same price so 6 in total exist.
