Where The Strongest Are Born Collection
by Victor Ribeiro
Paraiba, Brazil, 2018
How to portray a land? It's DNA? What makes it home, or a trauma? How do the struggles define the people? Heart warming and heart breaking stories put together to paint a faithful picture of The Sertão on Northeast Brazil.
My name is Victor Ribeiro and during 2017 and 2018 I traveled across this land. What I've seen and lived there changed my photography and the way I see the world. The people and the land are unique, and even though it's a place known for misery and poverty, I saw paradise in many ways. This collection is composed of 30 1/1 photographs, each one telling a different story about the life in The Sertao.
1/3 of the sales will be donated to a NGO that helps people in the area. Giving back is a mission.
