ABC CONVERSION 03/10 is the 3rd audiovisual artpiece from a series of ten artworks created by multimedia-artist Chris Noelle aka TOFA. Adapted from a handwritten ABC calligraphy typo, the clip shows the transformation process from 2D to 3D artwork and leads to a new visual language. Like this, the series shows the possibilities of interaction between 2D and 3D in a beautiful new way.
The collection FROM2DTO3D has a focus on the conversion process from handwritten calligraphy to abstract 3D animation. By vectorizing the ABC typography from the original paper drawing and converting it into 3D, the abstraction process becomes the core element of the analog-digital-analog interaction. Chris Noelle aka TOFA works on this method since 2018 and also transforms the final digital artworks back from 3D to analog 2D illustrations, plotted with a penplotter to extraordinary fineart illustrations . This conversion-process is a permanent evolving series and crosses the borders between the real and the digital worlds viceversa.
