The place, illustrated in the photo is Kinkakuji (金閣寺, Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto, Japan, and portrays a peaceful coexistence of humanity and nature.

The pavilion was built in 1397 and is constantly updating, allowing us to time travel along many centuries in the past.
