Clara was a benevolent common witch who lived a very normal and happy life with her partner. After some years, they were pregnant and blessed with twins! The couple was so overjoyed. Everything was perfect and it really felt like they could live happily ever after.

Then about a decade later, came the unfathomable. It effected the whole world around them. People were dying en masse and it didn't care who --- the young, old, sick, healthy, it didn’t matter. The scientists said it was an unknown deadly plague and they were nowhere near a cure.

In a panic, Clara put every healing spell and every protection spell she knew over her family but alas, it was too late. At first it took her partner and then the twins began to show the signs.

Clara was devastated and helpless. She did have one crazy idea but it would take her down a very dark path. Clara had nothing to lose, so without a word she left the house for 3 whole days. When she finally returned, she held something clutched in her arms and she smelled of sulfur. She kept mumbling under her breath and she started to immediately scribble all over the walls. All the while, she did not even look at her children once.

The twins were so confused why mother was acting this way. Where had she disappeared to? She did not seem like herself anymore. They were sure the plague had taken her and it was only a matter of time before they were all going to die. Terrified, they just held each other for days until they took their last breath.

It was at this point, all the elements were in place and she unclutched the mysterious object from her arms --- It was The Darkhold: The book of Chthon the Arch-Demon and God of Chaos Magic.

Everything she did has led up to this and she places her children, the book, and herself at the center of the ritual markings. She casted the darkest, most forbidden spell in the book: The Reanimation Spell. No one has successfully used this spell and lived, but a mother's love knows no bounds. She casted it perfectly, sacrificing her soul to bring her children back from the dead.

By unleashing this dark magic, she unknowingly became the most powerful High Priestess and simultaneously a vessel for Chthon to enslave her forever. Now she can never be with her children, but they did eventually breathe and open their eyes again… except they weren't quite alive either.
