Rainbow Mosho began to understand her cultural heritage (Greek Puerto Rican) and she hosted an art challenge on Instagram - Oct 2020 - Hispanic Heritage Month -- She drew art inspired by Latin American artists (Botero, Frida Kahlo, etc) --
But Lex Tirado and his Meninas gave her greater inspiration -- and she created Precious Latina Menina --- She embodies the beauty of our lands and seas. She represents the mixture of cultures and races many of us share. Love for her cultural heritage empowers her, always.
Piece created on Oct 12, 2020 -- Known as Columbus Day in the USA, in Puerto Rico - Dia del Descubrimiento de America
I have learned to allow my mind to wander. For many years, I could not share what my mind thought or wondered, I could not verbalize those thoughts or emotions. Art was my language. Art opened the doors to exchange glances with color. Art smiled for me. Art cried for me. Art played for me. Art learned for me.
Now, I create art to create books that are fun and kids will learn about themselves and their surroundings.
Originals - Created between March 2020 - March 2021. 1/1
Income from these pieces will support production of book #4 - Adventures at the Zoo - to be published February 2022.
