I met Arif on the streets of Balat on a rainy weekend when I was out to take pictures. In the rain, he appeared before me in an alley with his hands in his pockets. He was so thoughtful that he didn't even notice how it was raining. The clothes he wore looked like children's clothes from 1970. He looked at me with his eyes as black as coal. That's when I said I should take a picture of this emotional child. We chatted a little before, and I learned that his name was Arif and he was walking towards the house. There was obviously something upsetting him. He did not say exactly why he was upset. After staying for a while, he continued on his way. At the end of this conversation, this square appeared with his eyes that hurt me too.
